Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics is a high-end makeup brand that has been around for over 15 years. It was created by aesthetician Pauline Youngblood….yes that’s where the name comes from
She wanted to be able to recommend a brand to her clients that would cover raw, inflamed or discoloured skin, while allowing it to breathe and heal so along came YoungBlood Mineral Makeup!
Mineral makeup is becoming more and more popular as people want good quality and kind to skin products. People are a lot more aware of what they are putting on and into their body.
The main idea of mineral makeup is that they have no lead, talc, artificial colours or fragrances, mineral oil, or alcohol. Pigments are derived from the earth’s natural minerals. They are not tested on animals and unlike other mineral makeup brands YOUNGBLOOD Mineral Cosmetics do not use Zinc Oxide, this is only added as an SPF and can be drying. Any way you should apply your SPF separate! Makeup with SPF can cause flash back in photos. Youngblood cosmetics are rich in added vitamins and minerals and antioxidants to heal, protect and condition skin.
I was delighted to get to go to their Irish launch event a few weeks ago at Closer2Fabulous Studios where they had Philip Luque, Youngblood’s global makeup artist and director of artistry & education. Philip was so lovely very down to earth and he explained the products so well.
I’ve had a little play with some of their products and I really love them they work just as well as non mineral makeup cosmetics and feel really silky on the skin. I will have more detailed reviews soon.
In the meantime go follow/like Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics Ireland on Facebook & Twitter. The full range is available from a few pharmacies across the country with more to come
